A comprehensive security upgrade for Multibase Construction, replacing manual processes with AI-driven surveillance and automated vehicle access.
Multibase Construction operates a high-intensity fabrication yard in Tuas South, supporting major civil and infrastructure projects across Singapore. The facility required a transition from legacy manual security to a modern, automated platform that could handle the unique environmental and operational stresses of a heavy engineering yard.

The Multibase facility in Tuas South is a harsh operating environment. Constant dust from steel fabrication, vibrations from heavy machinery, and extreme heat during the day rule out standard commercial-grade security hardware. Any system installed here must be industrial-rated to prevent premature component failure.
Operationally, the yard faces a constant flow of prime movers and heavy trailers delivering raw materials. Manual gate logs were causing significant delays and were prone to human error, creating a bottleneck that impacted the yard's production schedule.
Furthermore, the 24-hour nature of the yard meant that shift changes occurred in low-light conditions, requiring a surveillance system with high-sensitivity sensors that could classify events accurately without the guard team suffering from alarm fatigue.
| Security Dimension | Legacy State | Securevision Upgrade |
|---|---|---|
| Vehicle Entry | Manual swing gates & logs | Automated 2-way industrial barriers |
| Staff Attribution | Paper sign-in books | ZKTeco biometric fingerprint terminals |
| Surveillance | Static video monitoring | AI human & vehicle classification |
| Night Security | Reactive guard patrols | Proactive AI perimeter alerts |
The key decision for Multibase was whether to reuse existing domestic-grade gate infrastructure or invest in a full industrial-grade replacement. While the initial cost of industrial barriers is higher, the high frequency of vehicle movement in a fabrication yard causes domestic motors to burn out within months.
Securevision recommended a full transition to Dormer industrial barrier arms with high-cycle-rated motors. This was coupled with an AI-first surveillance strategy that used hardware with IP67 and IK10 ratings to withstand the dust and impact risk of the yard.
This "Industrial-First" strategy has resulted in zero hardware downtime since commissioning, even during peak production periods.
Our approach focused on creating a seamless flow for authorised personnel and vehicles while hardening the perimeter against external threats.
Strategically placed AI cameras to monitor heavy lifts and machinery movement, providing operational oversight beyond just security.
Designed a two-way barrier system that allows for rapid vehicle throughput while maintaining a digital record of all yard entries.
Hardened the administrative building with biometric access, ensuring that sensitive project data remains isolated from the yard floor.
Brought all access and video feeds into a single workstation in the guardhouse for real-time response.
By designing the system architecture to withstand the environmental stresses of Tuas South, we provided Multibase with a foundation that will last for years of continuous operation.
The final deployment integrates three critical layers of security into a single operational view.
16× IP67-rated cameras with on-board analytics to distinguish between human movement and blowing debris.
Surveillance & Detection →ZKTeco fingerprint terminals at all office and workshop entries, ensuring a precise audit trail of staff presence.
Entry Access Control →Heavy-duty Dormer barriers coordinated with the guardhouse for seamless vehicle flow and perimeter integrity.
Vehicle Access & LPR →A complete infrastructure upgrade designed for the harsh environmental conditions of an engineering yard.
Cameras: 16× AI-Powered 4MP Dome & Bullet Cameras.
Recording: 16-Channel AI NVR.
Terminals: 4× ZKTeco Biometric Fingerprint Terminals.
Management: ZKBioSecurity Enterprise Platform.
Barriers: 2× Dormer Industrial Barrier Arms.
Vehicle bottlenecks have been eliminated through automated barrier control, supporting the yard's production schedule.
AI classification has allowed the guard team to focus only on genuine security events, ignoring blowing debris and wildlife.
The transition to biometrics has provided management with an accurate, real-time record of all site presence.
In the Tuas heartland, we approach security design through the lens of survival. A system that works in an office will fail in a fabrication yard. By specifying industrial-grade motors, IP67-rated housing, and AI that understands the difference between a prime mover and a swaying tree, we build systems that don't just secure-they last.
Every project Securevision delivers draws on multiple systems working together - cameras, access control, intercoms, vehicle management, network infrastructure, and platform software. The cards below show the full range of systems we design and install. Each one links to a deeper explanation of how it works, when it is needed, and what to look for when specifying it.
Tell us about your operational constraints. We'll design a system that survives the environment.
