IP Phones and Key Telephone for Offices

Since its invention by Alexander Graham Bell in 1876, the telephone has undergone many transformations. Beyond conducting conversations between people too far apart to be heard directly, it has become a ubiquitous part of our daily lives. Convergence has given modern phones capabilities beyond simple voice conversation, integrating video, conferencing, messaging and many computing needs.

Traditional Telephone replaced by digital IP Phones and Key Telephones for office applications

Switching To Digital

Even the modern keyphone system that replaced the operator switchboard is fast phasing out. IP Phone is quickly replacing traditional analogue keyphones. Even telcos are switching their analogue trunk line to digital lines floated on fibre. The cost of an IP Phone has dropped tremendously and with IP Phone, it is now possible to receive and make phone calls from your mobile phone as though you are sitting in the office on a landline. The COVID19 pandemic has quickly ushered digitisation, with much more personnel working from home. With our Linkus App, your mobile phone doubles as your office phone.

What is IP Phone?

IP Phone uses Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology to make phone calls over the internet. From a user perspective, an IP Phone work the same way as an analogue phone.

But its advantage is that the IP Phone can transmit voice data digitally from anywhere as long as you have internet. This means that you can make and receive calls as though you are in the office even if you are home or in another country.

The system provides features that can satisfy the demands of the most sophisticated and cost-conscious users. You can even connect a variety of communication devices, such as cordless phones, answering machines, fax machines, and any other device that works with conventional telephone lines.

Panasonic PBX Discontinued by 2023

However, Panasonic has announced that it will stop manufacturing and distributing business PABX Communications Systems by 2023. This is part of their ongoing strategic decision which has been impacted by a market migration to cloud-based solutions and “significantly accelerated by COVID-19.

With this massive shakeup in the telecommunication industry, Panasonic PBX and SIP telephone systems users need to source an alternative replacement.

We have reserved some spare parts and will continue to support our existing clients for their expansion and servicing needs. But in the long run, as the world goes digital, we would suggest migrating to an IP Platform. The Yeastar IP Phone is a cost-effective, reliable platform to switch to.
